A church’s vibrancy and sense of community are deeply enriched by the dedicated efforts of its mothers and sisters, without whom no church can truly flourish. At Saint Mary’s in Mount Pritchard, these devoted women from the heart of what is known as the Women’s Ministry. The Women’s Ministry or ladies committee is an essential pillar of the parish, with its members gathering monthly to discuss and organise a wide range of events. These gatherings cover both social and spiritual activities, ensuring that the community remains connected and spiritually nourished.

Beyond planning events, the Ladies of Saint Mary’s take on significant responsibilities that support the church in various ways.

They are instrumental in preparing meals for parish activities, ensuring that communal gatherings are not only spiritually fulfilling but also warm and hospitable. For instance, they meticulously plan and cook for church fundraisers, community outreach programs, and special liturgical celebrations, providing a welcoming environment for all who attend. Their contributions extend to decorating the church for major feasts, assisting in charity drives, and offering support to parishioners in need. Through their unwavering commitment and tender loving care, the Ladies of Saint Mary’s Mount Pritchard exemplifies the spirit of service and community that lies at the heart of the parish.

The Ladies Society

Bread has been a symbol of God’s provision throughout history, with the practice of Holy Bread (Korban) rooted in the Last Supper. It is an offering to God, made from His gifts, and prepared with love and prayer. The dough is stamped with a wooden seal before baking, often hand-carved by monastics. To place an order, please contact the parish by Tuesday via email or phone.
